The LumberJack is an NPC vendor that can spawn if at least 400 Tree tiles have been chopped off. After that condition has met, he has a 10% chance to spawns when the player shakes tree.

Once he moves in the first time, the player will not need to shake trees for him to respawn as long there are vacant houses.

When threatened by enemies, he will defend himself by throwing exploding The Lumber Jaxe.

Shimmered Form

Shimmered LumberJack.

When the LumberJack is submerged in Shimmer he will transform into his shimmered version. He can be returned to his classic look by submerging him in Shimmer again.

Tree Treasures

The LumberJack's Tree Treasures option gives the player a critter depending on where, sometimes when, it was used. It can only be used once per day or night.

Notes

• The Lumberjack will deal significantly higher damage against Mourning Wood, Everscream and Splinterlings.
• The Lumberjack is a useful NPC to have when building as he eliminates the need to chop down trees for wood.
• He does not sell Dynasty Wood.

Tips

• The Tree Treasures option can be helpful to get critters and fruit that are used in enchantments, such as the Apricot in the Iron Enchantment.
• The Portable Sundial can be used to skip the cooldown between Tree Treasures.

Trivia

• The Tree Treasures line "Back in the day, people used to forge butterflies into powerful gear. We try to forget those days... but here have one." is a reference to the Thorium Mod's now removed Butterfly Plague, which were used to craft several upgrades to the Butterfly Staff and a few enchantments.
• The line "I eat a bowl of woodchips for breakfast.. without any milk." is a reference to a quote from SpongeBob SquarePants, with nails being replaced by woodchips.
• The line "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day!" is a reference to Monty Python's 'The lumberjack song' with that being a line in the chorus.
• The name Paul is a reference to the folklore spun Lumberjack Giant named Paul Bunyan.
• According to Deviantt's dialogue when LumberJack is present, he is likely unbelievably powerful, to the point where even trying to fight him is meaningless.
• Judging by Mutant's dialogue when LumberJack is present, Mutant is extremely afraid of him.

• The Bestiary entry for the LumberJack: "A wholly ordinary lumberjack that loves collecting critters and chopping wood of any kind. But could there be more to him than meets the eye? Secret godly power? ...Probably not."
