Fargo's Souls Mod v1.3.96.7 served to refactor a great deal of internal code, polish many aspects of Eternity Mode and its bosses to improve readability, and netcode improvements.

Changes

Enchantment Accessories

  • Ebonwood Enchantment and Shadewood Enchantment nerfed, now require line of sight (unless Force version is used)
  • Jungle Enchantment dash speed buffed slightly
    • Nerfed spore damage to 12 (was 30), scales up to 48 and then 108 with upgrades (was 150)
    • Spores no longer steal i-frames from other attacks
    • Slightly nerfed spore production rate
  • Gladiator Enchantment damage is capped without Soul of Terraria, caps base damage at 300
    • Fixed 0 damage attacks spawning harmless projectiles
  • Bee Enchantment damage is capped without Soul of Terraria, caps base damage at 300
    • Fixed 0 damage attacks spawning harmless projectiles
  • Adamantite Enchantment bug fixed
    • Splitoff projectiles do full damage if they have infinite pierce (did less damage before, potentially hindering overall DPS)
    • Reduces damage of projectiles that use local i-frames so that Adamantite Enchantment no longer grants as large of a DPS boost to them
  • Wizard Enchantment refactored internally to fix any cases where it failed to apply enhanced effects
  • Frost Enchantment buffed, restored ability to stack freeze duration but only up to 1 second
    • Refactored and fixed freeze mechanics, no longer crashes the game when used on Wall of Flesh
  • Chlorophyte Enchantment dash speed buffed significantly and corrected missing line in toolip
  • Tiki Enchantment bug fixed, no longer grants infinite sentries

Force Accessories

Other Accessories

  • Skull Charm minion bug fixed, works with non-autofire weapons
  • Tim's Concoction bug fixed, works in multiplayer
  • Sparkling Adoration visual effect on shooting hearts improved
    • Fixed Fake Heart immunity being tied to homing hearts toggle, now always gives passive immunity
  • Bionomic Cluster tooltip adjusted to better document passive effects
    • Passive effects work in vanity slots as well as inventory
  • Ice Queen's Crown buffed, slows nearby enemies and projectiles when you take damage (with toggle)
  • Pumpking's Cape has an attack that can be triggered by minions and fixed bug where certain weapons such as yoyos didn't properly trigger the additional attacks
    • Nerfed damage
  • Computation Orb no longer requires mana to use tools such as pickaxes
    • Fixed bug where Mana Flower effect did not work alongside Computation Orb
    • Fixed bug where weapons such as yoyos did not incur mana cost due to technicalities with how the attack is used
  • Celestial Rune has an attack that can be triggered by minions and fixed bug where certain weapons such as yoyos didn't properly trigger the additional attacks
    • Buffed friendly Cultist fireball homing
  • Chalice of the Moon tooltip improved
  • Soul of the Siblings debuff damage over time adjusted and visuals improved to generate less noise
  • Abominable Wand grants immunity to Abominable Presence
  • Mutant Eye grants immunity to Mutant Presence

Weapons

  • The Lightning Rod nerfed, no longer deals damage through walls and bolts have limited wallclip
  • Dragon's Breath heavily adjusted
    • Halved damage but doubled hit rate
    • Has visual effect when hitting an enemy
    • Rotates faster towards cursor
    • Vastly improved hitbox to be much more accurate to sprite
    • Increased range significantly
  • Vortex Ritual recipe changed
    • Bug fixed, can no longer continue attacking with zero mana
    • Fixed tooltip missing Patreon tag
  • Devious Aestheticus visuals significantly improved and takes 10 mana to use
  • Mechanical Leash of Cthulhu spawns less projectiles on hit and has an upper limit to reduce lag, movement of homing projectiles adjusted
  • The Regurgitator bug fixed, Hungry can no longer be grown with zero mana
  • Big Brain Buster nerfed, requires 7 slots to max power (was 6)
    • Visuals adjusted
  • Nuke Fishron visual noise reduced
  • Omniscience Staff damage and tracking buffed
  • The Penetrator dash netcode adjusted and removes hook on use

Other Changes

  • Abominable Energy internally renamed (this will disable instances from older versions)
  • Refactored various visual effects to reduce lag and for better internal cleanliness
  • Refactored on-hit effects for consistency between melee and projectile hits
  • Refactored many minions and "held projectiles" for better netcode sync
  • Refactored many projectiles that associate with other entities via homing or sticking to them
  • Homing projectiles, minion projectiles, and projectiles shot by minions are correctly marked internally as such
  • Large refactor to projectile-destroying behaviour for both hostile and friendly projectiles; all of these interactions now use a "deletion rank"
    • In addition to the previously immune minions, most held projectiles such as yoyos are also immune to most projectile deletion behaviour
    • Most projectiles shot by minions are no longer immune to deletion mechanics
  • Flames of the Universe damage over time increased and visuals improved to generate less noise

Eternity Mode Changes

General Changes

  • Refactored all vanilla boss AIs and many enemies for better internal organization
  • Webs in Spider Caves also inflict 3 seconds of Slow
  • Nerfed Grenades, -33% speed
  • Nerfed Stardust Dragon, -15% damage
  • Suffocation nerfed when exploited against enemies, now takes time to ramp up to full damage
  • Critters being killed by natural Falling Stars no longer makes you feel Guilty
  • Changed Cactus damage
    • 10 damage in regular desert
    • 20 damage in Corrupt/Crimson/Hallow desert
    • Damage doubles in hardmode
  • Old One's Army armor sets allow minions to do more damage through the multiclass nerf

Enemies

  • Attempted to fix Goblin Thief deleting modded item data when stealing
  • Spiky Balls and Blazing Wheels outside Dungeon will begin emitting fire before they selfdestruct and will selfdestruct in both Underworld and Jungle Temple
  • Lava Slime no longer gets stuck on ceilings generating excessive lava
  • Large Rainbow Slime shoots more spikes in larger spread, but spikes no longer ignore tiles so that it isn't as effective at harassing players in their base (small slime spikes still ignore tiles)
  • Biome Mimic coin attack replaced with new unique attacks. These attacks are nerfed when fought underground
    • Hallowed Mimic shoots/rains arrows
    • Corrupt Mimic casts pillars of cursed flames
    • Crimson Mimic vomits ichor
    • Jungle Mimic launches plant tentacles
  • Buffed homing Solar Flare speed and is no longer destroyed by colliding with tiles or platforms

Bosses

  • Eye of CthulhuEye of Cthulhu
    • Has a basic sickle trail in phase 1
    • Removed basic sickle trail in phase 2 to reduce noise that draws away from expanding sickle rings
    • Adjusted phase 3 sickle trail linger duration
  • Queen BeeQueen Bee
    • Royal Subject AI improved to dash consistently, no longer enters unusual behaviour where they draw extremely close to player before dashing point-blank
    • No longer dashes in phase 2 randomly, dashes are instead triggered by killing all Royal Subjects or after a bee swarm
    • Added telegraph to phase 2 dashes
    • Added gores to Royal Subjects
  • SkeletronSkeletron
    • Switched hand attack order, they now launch Baby Guardians during spin and throw skeletons after spin
    • Nerfed to no longer shoot THAT homing skull immediately after a spin
  • Deviantt (boss)Deviantt (boss)
    • Fixed small Sparkling Love lacking a hitbox
    • Made large Sparkling Love hitbox slightly more accurate to sprite (the entire blade is no longer completely safe to touch)
    • Added glowmask to wielded weapon
    • Reduced strange oscillating movement during certain attacks
    • Added heart-shaped visual special effects to certain attacks
    • Mimic attack nerfed, has some accelerating startup
    • Fixed sometimes teleporting under player when beginning heart rain attack which tended to cause cheap contact damage
    • Reduced bribery threshold
    • Adjusted contact damage hitbox
  • Wall of FleshWall of Flesh
    • Added a telegraph to indicate timing for when eyes shoot vanilla lasers
    • Added a telegraph before world evil attacks
    • 10% phase nerfed, only does 2 chain barrages between world evil attacks (was 3)
    • Chain barrage reticle spawn location consistency improved
  • The DestroyerThe Destroyer
    • Improved light show movement so that initial dash is much better at avoiding ramming directly into player at high speed
    • New attack, probes fire lasers
    • Altered attack pattern and some movement to reduce tendency to bodyblock player during star wall
  • Skeletron PrimeSkeletron Prime
    • Limbs take damage and can be crippled or destroyed but have increased life
  • PlanteraPlantera
    • Phase 1 no longer spreads Dicer mines
    • Nerfed thorn balls, leave behind a Dicer mine instead of bouncing off blocks
    • Removes leftover flying Crystal Leaf rings when entering phase 2
  • GolemGolem
    • Low Ground inflicts -10% DR, buffing Golem damage output slightly
    • Immune to Ichor so that it no longer obstructs the sprite
    • Improved spiky ball visuals to better denote when the hitbox becomes active
    • Body no longer jumps while head is using deathray attack, but made geysers spawn on ceiling during this attack to compensate
    • Refined flying head behaviour, no longer fires lasers at close range at all (previously moved faster in close range to try and avoid player but could still point-blank)
    • Outside Jungle Temple:
      • Body regeneration increases to 360 life per second
      • Boulders can bounce off platforms if you're above them
  • Lunatic CultistLunatic Cultist
    • Phase 1 vanilla fireballs nerfed to have accelerating startup
    • Phase 1 fireballs clone support attack nerfed, they now fire destructible homing flares instead of solar goop
    • Phase 1 lightning clone support attack adjusted, they now fire moving lightning portals
    • Phase 1 ice spikes clone support attack nerfed, much longer delay on frost waves
    • Phase 2 Nebula Sphere (Ancient Doom support) homing speed adjusted to be more reactable at close range
    • Pillar dunk visuals adjusted
    • Fixed an edge case where attacking Cultist at the very end of ritual allowed him to throw two pillars at once
    • Ancient Vision life reduced -50%
    • Phantasm Dragon spawn damage reduction nerfed, now depreciates over 5 seconds instead of 100% DR for 3 seconds
  • Moon LordMoon Lord
    • Phase 1 Vortex attack changed to a ring of inwards-aimed lightning portals (was lightning rain)
    • Phase 2 Solar attack nerfed, persistent blasts linger less
    • Phase 2 Vortex attack changed to lightning storm portals (was projectile-devouring vortex shield)
    • Phase 2 all-class attack changed from shrinking ritual to summoning numerous moons
    • Phase 2 increases weakness transition speed
    • Fixed a certain vanilla attack notoriously not working in vanilla multiplayer
  • Champion of TimberChampion of Timber
    • Adjusted movement and animation, no longer falls through platforms unnecessarily
  • Champion of TerraChampion of Terra
    • Movement significantly improved, body follows head more accurately and is much less likely to encircle and then damage player by contracting the coil
    • Replaced between-attack transition, which previously merely reset the body all at once, with a very fast coil that properly draws in the full length
  • Champion of SpiritChampion of Spirit
    • Fixed multiplayer sync issue that gave Champion of Spirit invincibility
  • Champion of LifeChampion of Life
    • Extended telegraph on first ray wheel in each set
    • Adjusted movement to reduce likelihood of accidentally ramming into player
  • Eridanus, Champion of CosmosEridanus, Champion of Cosmos
    • Fixed timestop bug that locked music volume to maximum
    • Nerfed vortex vacuum strength
    • Visually improved to change colors while attacking
    • Phase 2 phantasmal sphere cage nerfed to track your vertical position, making them easier to see
    • Phase 3 lightning nerfed, much longer delay and direction telegraphed
    • Phase 3 nerfed, reverted to 2 moons (was 3)
    • Must be closer to Deviantt to be enraged by her existence
  • Abominationn (boss)Abominationn (boss)
    • In multiplayer, targets a single player until they die or flee to improve consistency
    • Added glowmask to wielded weapon
    • Nerfed basic scythe toss attack rate and visually wields Styx Gazer to cast them
    • Nerfed transition between flaming scythes and dashes in phase 2, longer delay and adjusted telegraph
    • Movement adjusted during third Styx Gazer ray blade attack
    • No longer deals cheap contact damage while moving into position for third Styx Gazer ray blade attack
    • Numerous improvements to visual effects
    • Adjusted contact damage hitbox

    • In multiplayer, targets a single player until they die or flee to improve consistency
    • Fixed not dropping Phantasmal Energy
