Not to be confused with the Top Hat Squirrel (weapon), the weapon variant of this item.
Top Hat Squirrels are harmless critters that can commonly appear in the Forest biome. They can be caught with a Bug Net.
Top Hat Squirrel cannot be harmed by a player via normal means.

- Despite being immune to other weapons Decrepit Airstrike Remote can deal damage to the Top Hat Squirrel.
- This makes obtaining the Bestiary entry impossible until Banished Baron has been defeated.
Trivia
- Originally, catching a Top Hat Squirrel would immediately give you a strong consumable thrower weapon. However, this was deemed too powerful for being obtainable before any boss, and it was later separated into a post-Mechanical Bosses magic weapon.
- The
怪物图鉴 entry for Top Hat Squirrel: "This squirrel found itself a dapper hat! What will it do with this newfound power? Probably not much, honestly."
