That thing's mouth is as good as immune to damage, so you'll have to aim for the eyes. What thing? You know, that thing.

For the vanilla page, see Wall of Flesh.

Eternity Mode Wall of Flesh is the final Pre-Hardmode boss. It is a more powerful version of the Wall of Flesh, with more attacks and new behavior.

Behavior

Throughout the fight, only one of the Wall of Flesh's eyes can be vulnerable to damage. The vulnerability switches every 9 seconds. The invulnerable eye is indicated with a force field and color inversion effect.

  • The Wall's speed is capped at significantly lower than it's normal maximum speed. (Cap is higher.)

Phase 1

  • It will fire high-velocity Eye Laser.png lasers from both of its eyes. The frequency and damage of these lasers will increase as the boss's health depletes. Each eye loads a laser volley to be fired when the player is in line of sight, indicated by violet sparks that start spread out and become more rapid and focused as the volley is about the be loaded.
  • Every time its eyes are about to switch invincibility, an eye becomes enveloped in blue energy particles, it then fires a deadly Divine Deathray.png Divine Deathray from the eye and it becomes invincible, with the opposite eye becoming vulnerable again. (Deathray is much larger.)

When the Wall of Flesh reaches 75%/90% health, it will enter phase 2.

Phase 2

  • The Wall of Flesh keeps its attacks from the previous phase and adds two new ones, based around the world evils, that it constantly alternates between.
    • Corruption: It summons a wall of Cursed Flame (projectile).png Cursed Flames from the other side that forces the player to get closer to the boss. The position that the Cursed Flame wall is going to disappear in is indicated by a vertical green line.
      • The Hungry (Eternity Mode).png The Hungry will back away from the player during this attack. (Hungry continue their normal ai.)
    • Crimson: It fires many Golden Shower (projectile).png Golden Shower streams from its mouth that force the player to stay further from the boss. (Creates a second identical stream that obeys reverse gravity.)
  • During these attacks, the boss eyes will halt their laser attacks. (Continues firing lasers regardless of evil attack state)

When the Wall of Flesh reaches 50%/80% health, it will enter phase 3.

Phase 3

In between the evil attacks, it now periodically summons chain hungry barrages of 3 The Hungry (Eternity Mode).png Hungry projectiles from the ceiling and floor, centered on WOFReticle.png blue aiming recitals.

When the Wall of Flesh reaches 10%/25% health, it will enter phase 4.

Phase 4

  • Loses its purple eye laser attack. (Keeps lasers)
  • Its eyes change invincibility every 4 seconds instead of 9. Consequently, it fires Divine Deathrays much faster.
  • World evil attacks trigger twice as fast.
  • Chain hungry barrages occur more frequently.

Notes

  • Unlike in Expert Mode, eye lasers and The Hungry can go through tiles, and the Wall of Flesh does not travel at insane speeds at lower health. Additionally, its extremely fast laser fire at low health in Expert Mode is overridden in phase 3.
  • Wall of Flesh drops a Guide Doll and Match Kit on spawn if it has not been defeated yet.

Tips

  • Pre-emptively approaching or retreating may help avoid the evil attacks.
  • Chain hungry barrages and Divine Deathray should receive priority in avoiding as The Tongue and Unstable debuffs can be disruptive.

Trivia

  • If the Eternity Mode Recolors option is turned on in the Mod Configurations menu, it resembles The Hallow.
